An update to a story we told you about first yesterday. Two Muncie women have been arrested for their alleged roles in the beating of a pregnant teenager. Ashley Sue Smith and Olivia Marie Daniel-Smith are each charged with battery to a pregnant female causing bodily injury. The third person of interest in the case remains at-large.
Witnesses reported seeing three women drag the 17-year-old victim out of the driver’s seat of her car, where they “beat her in the middle of the street.” The victim was left with multiple facial injuries and bruises from the attack.

Staff Relations Manager Barb Cross says she‘s among numerous Red Cross staffers nationwide on the ground and assessing the needs. Cross says she always feels personally blessed to be able to help those who are in trouble.
