New life for a downtown landmark: In just a few weeks, work will begin on transforming the former Hotel Roberts into a 17 million dollar senior housing project. It will take months of construction before tenants will move into 83 apartments in the seven-story building. Last-minute details are being attended to before construction begins. Neighbors of the hotel have been notified of contact information for the project manager during months of demolition and construction.

Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
