Head-On Crash South Of Elwood Kills One

One person was killed in a head-on crash with a box truck in Madison County yesterday.
The crash happened along State Road 37 just north of County Road 900 North, south of Elwood. Witnesses say a Volkswagen traveling north on SR 37 crossed the center line and struck a large southbound box truck head on, causing the truck to tip onto its side. The driver of the car was pinned in the wreckage and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the box truck was taken to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries was not released.

INDOT Mandate To Help Accomodate Holiday Traffic
24.05.13Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
