On Aug. 1 of this year, Ball State will become completely smoke free if the board of trustees adopts the recommendations of a campus task force. The recommendations were presented to the trustees at their meeting on Friday, but they will not be asked to vote until their March meeting. If the trustees approve the ban, the university plans to step up health education, free nicotine replacement therapy and fresh start classes.
