Muncie police officer Bret Elam will be suspended for 10 days without pay and enter a diversion program in the wake of allegations he beat a man in a local tavern. Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings has issued a report indicating he will not file criminal charges against Elam, citing his decision to allow Elam to enter into a diversion program was based on the officer’s lack of a prior criminal record and because “his actions were provoked by the alleged victim.”

INDOT Mandate To Help Accomodate Holiday Traffic
24.05.13Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
