Teens that miss out on an early work experience are more likely to endure unemployment and less likely to achieve higher levels of career attainment later in life. That’s according to a recently released report on youth employment by the Casey Foundation. In an effort to help teens gain valuable work experience, the Indiana Youth Institute is hosting a forum that will explore summer employment opportunities for teens. The forum is next Thursday (2/28) at the Hunt Public Library on South High Street in Muncie.

Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
