A historic building in Anderson has been sold at auction. The Tower Place apartment building has been acquired by a Carmel business owner for 100-thousand dollars. Tower Place is on the National Register of Historic Place. It was built between 1929 and 1930 as a hotel, but never opened because of the Great Depression. The new owner plans to develop the sight to help revitalize downtown Anderson.

Two men are in jail on drug and theft charges in connection with the theft of trailers and motorcycles. Elwood police say the pair made off with two trailers, two Harley Davidson motorcycles valued at more than $100,000, an Oldsmobile stolen from Anderson, and two methamphetamine labs and other controlled substances.
