Man Sets Fire To His Home, Dies By Own Hand

Sad news from Grant County – where a rural Marion man dies from a self-inflicted gun shot wound after setting his home on fire. The Sheriff’s Department received a call from a woman claiming that her husband was threatening to blow up their home and commit suicide. When first responders arrived they observed smoke coming from the house. The 49-year-old man barricaded himself inside. Negotiators were able to speak with the man via phone, but he refused to leave.

INDOT Mandate To Help Accomodate Holiday Traffic
24.05.13Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
