Streets were blocked off in Pendleton yesterday as a gas leak forced Madison County Emergency Management to reroute traffic after the leak was reported at the Pendleton McDonald’s. EMA is blocked traffic between the restaurant and a nearby gas station while crews looked for a shut-off. An investigation into the leak continues.

Three people were rescued from the fast-moving waters of the White River, after the canoe they were riding in got stuck on an island in the shallow waters. A 10 and 12 year-old, along with their 22-year-old babysitter were rescued thanks to the combined efforts of Muncie and Yorktown-Mount Pleasant and Salem Township fire departments. [...]

A Muncie man was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after police say he was shot multiple times while in the Whitely neighborhood. 34-year-old Tyjuan McCraney suffered three gunshot wounds to his lower leg-area. His injuries were not believed to be immediately life threatening. Witnesses say a fight led to that shooting.
