It took a 12-person jury less than an hour Thursday to find Dallas Woods of Anderson not guilty of seriously injuring a woman during a purse snatching in December. The Madison Superior Court 1 jury began deliberations about 1 p.m., and returned with its decision about 45 minutes later. Woods, who had been held in the Madison County Jail on $35,000 bond since his arrest in February, was officially released from custody shortly before 3 p.m. Woods was an accomplished wrestler and football player when he attended Pendleton Heights High School. He was on trial for breaking a woman’s arm when he allegedly stole her purse in the parking lot of Target in Anderson.

The policy targets students who live outside of district boundaries but who do not pay tuition fees. School growth is cited as a cause for the policy, which would also require repayment of tuition for students who are found to have been attending illegally.
